Jacquelyn L. Power, M.Ed. is committed to working with and helping teachers, children and members of her community to learn and grow. Ever diligent in her own capacity to gather knowledge and grow as an educator, Dr. Power serves as Superintendent and Principal of the Blackwater Community School in Coolidge, Arizona, and supports literacy and adult education initiatives. It is her vision to raise student performance and provide resources for teachers that will help students achieve their academic goals. She organizes instructional programs, and puts in place curriculum that works for both students and teachers. She is proud to be able to work with and assist both children and adults in their aspirations to achieve greatness in their academic pursuits.
Dr. Power is a prominent speaker who has spoken on topics related to literacy and indigenous populations on an international basis, in Guatemala, New Zealand and Chile. She is an award-winning educator who continues to strive for excellence in her endeavors. Dr. Power was presented with the National Fulbright Scholarship, and in 2002, she was honored with the National Elementary School Principal of the Year Award by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She has amassed more than 30 years of experience in the field of education, and she strives to continue strengthening the field and those with whom she works through her services.
